ESTER MARKET

The Ester Market 2011 season is scheduled to begin early June, at the Ester Community Park. The pre-seaon vendor meeting is scheduled for Monday, May 2, 6 pm at Hartung Hall on Main Street and Ester Loop. If you would like to be a vendor, please come to this meeting or contact the market manager.

Ester's first market season was small but successful, with a steady stream of customers and passersby. The second season, held weekly instead of monthly as in the first season, saw many more vendors, musicians, and customers. Goods offered included pottery, honey, wrought iron utensils, herbs, quilting kits, clothing, toys, t-shirts, jewelry, scarves, hats, garden starts and other plants, fresh vegetables, herbs, potted plants, sandwiches and pie, cookies and bread, dried spices and teas, books, newspapers, photographs, and more.

RECYCLE SALE

Every spring the Ester Volunteer Firefighters' Auxiliary holds a garage sale at the Ester Volunteer Fire Department. This year's sale is sccheduled for Saturday. June 12, from 9 am to 2 pm. Refreshments will be on sale and firefighters will be on hand to give tours of the trucks and station. Ten percent of the proceeds of the sale fund the Auxiliary, which uses them to provide support for the firefighters after a fire.
